TV Delivers Mixed Messages About Alcohol
The article I read was about how alcohol and how there are both positive and negative commercials on tv about it. On some channnels they show the commericials that show what bad stuff can happen, such as a friend dying or a car crash and on other channels they show positives about drinking such as partying and getting with the person you want.
The commericials are very contradicting to each other, while one wants you to be safe and gives you a very negative look on the outcomes of alchohol, and all the stuff that could happen. One commericial gives you the positives. So while watching tv a child could get very mixed signals about drinking.
Parents need to be aware and talk to their child about the consequences of drinking. They also need to make sure the child is not drinking at a young age or make sure they are safe while doing it. The commericials contradict each other in every way possible. The team that did the research are still working on how these messages are processed.
